ack in Athens, I got a job and started a little writing “program” at a housing project. My love for Amsterdam developed around this time, as I began to make annual jaunts to that splendidly debauched city.

Speaking of splendid debauchery, we moved to Savannah, Georgia in the fall of 1993. For the first time in my life I was not dead broke.



The strange mojo beauty of Savannah fueled my creative output. By the late 90s I was writing a regular column for Savannah’s Creative Loafing, and Georgia Public Radio began airing my stories in 2000 (bless you Susanna Capelouto).
